Membership Card Confirmation (Yellow Form)

Membership cards are being mailed to units who have returned their Annual Officers' Contact Information Sheet (Form A), paid their insurance and have no outstanding membership issues from last year. Traditionally, when the cards are received, Presidents are asked to complete and return a Yellow Membership Reply Form indicating the number of cards received and provide NYS PTA with the address information for their Unit Membership Chairman. This year, we encourage you to utilize the online form. By doing this the process will be expedited and we will be able to provide better service. However, the hard copy of the reply form is still available should you need to use that method. Please be sure to submit your information using only one of these methods.

Property Tax Caps White Paper and PowerPoint Presentation

Click below to find a copy of our New York State PTA Property Tax Caps White Paper. This paper provides an overview of the genesis of the NYS Commission for Property Tax Relief and its charge as well as the Commission's recommendations and its direct focus on a property tax cap. It provides researched information on the effects of tax caps in other states and suggestions for other approaches to tax relief that should be explored.  The paper seeks to explain and respond to concerns of education advocates and other organizations and groups that recognize the need for tax relief yet feel this recommendation to be a hasty political solution to a matter that is deserving of much more thoughtful consideration. The paper has been sent to all of our New York State Senate and Assembly members and to the Governor.

NYS PTA Advertising Policy

Additional mailings may be ordered by any unit or council at a cost of $70.00 per mailing. These mailings can be sent to other officers, your newsletter editor, or any member of your board. The additional mailing(s) will be a duplicate of the regular unit/council mailing received by the president. It will include a subscription to the New York Parent Teacher, and copies of all new publications, guides, etc. (05/01/2008)

Additional Mailing Order Form (Form C) in Word

The Annual Officers' Contact Information Sheet (Form A) is the official mechanism to report the key address information for our local Unit and Council Presidents, Treasurers, and alternate contacts. This form must be filed every year, even if your officers remain in their current position.

The New York State PTA uses this information for all of our mailings (including membership cards) and for direct contact with your local Region and New York State PTA. The New York State PTA provides this information to National PTA for their mailings to local Unit and Council Presidents, as well.

The Annual Officers' Contact Information Update Electronic (Form A) should be completed no later than June 15th, following your local unit election of officers. Failure to do this may result in discontinuation of mailings and membership cards.

If this information changes during the year, for example, new officer elections held in September or an address change, a new Annual Officers' Contact Information Sheet (Form A) should be created and submitted. While completion of the form is the responsibility of the outgoing President, new Presidents are encouraged to verify with their Region Directors that this action has been taken.
